Questline takes annual energy utility conference to the savanna

Nation’s communications pros explore the wilds of digital content marketing at Igniting Ideas 2016.

Columbus, Ohio, 19 May, 2016 – Leading energy communicators from utilities across the country converged at Columbus Zoo and Aquarium’s Heart of Africa exhibit for two days of digital energy communication insights and inspiration. Highlights included a sneak peek at the much-anticipated Questline Annual Energy Utility Email Benchmarks Report, a visual, multimedia content showcase and a panel discussion on automated email programs.

“Igniting Ideas is all about possibilities,” Dave Reim, Questline President, said. “It gives clients the chance to see the new, exciting communications, marketing and technical possibilities we can help them make a reality.”

In addition to informative, entertaining presentations, including one on energy industry thought leadership, given by Questline’s Senior Engineer, Mike Carter, the following three guest speakers offered up engaging talks:

  • Eric Davis, Principal User Experience Consultant at American Electric Power, shared mobile design pointers and showcased usability testing.
  • Jeff Wilson, HGTV and DIY TV personality and author, offered up new ways utilities can encourage their customers to tackle energy efficiency projects.
  • Joe Ellis, President of TQS Research, provided actionable tips to help increase customer satisfaction with utilities’ Managed Accounts.

Igniting Ideas is a forum for thought leadership in the industry, providing attendees a way to network and share their successes and challenges, as well as strategies and tactics.

Igniting Ideas is also where Questline holds its Illumination Awards ceremony, honoring utilities that have achieved remarkable results through innovative, thoughtful communications and marketing. Duke Energy took home the Marketing Effectiveness award for an LED lighting campaign that increased installations by 300%. PSE&G won the Marketing Efficiency award for an email campaign that increased sales of their appliance protection plan contracts. They also won the Customer Responsiveness award, thanks to a successful “click to enroll” paperless billing email campaign.
